Wharncliffe Crags 2.3 miles
A short walk up through Wharncliffe Woods with a return along the exposed cliffs of Wharncliffe Crags. Uneven ground
Underbank Reservoir2.0 or 3.3 miles
A choice of walks by Underbank reservoir. The walks cross the dam and proceed by the site of the reservoir. Good for bird spotting.
Whitwell Moor and trig point 3.0 miles
A pleasant climb from Stocksbridge Leisure centre to the trig point above Whitwell Moor. Super views across into the Peak District.
Bolsterstone Circular 1 3.1 miles
A walk along the top of the Ewden Valley with excellent views. The return loop passes across farm land and the golf course.
Deepcar circular 2.7 miles
A short walk with plenty of ascent. Good views across to Deepcar. Spectacular bluebells in spring.
Pot House Woods and Bolsterstone 3.2 miles
A combination of streets and paths climbs 530 ft from Manchester Road, Stocksbridge to Bolsterstone via woods and fields.
More Hall Reservoir 2.2 Miles A short level walk around More Hall reservoir near Bolsterstone. Well marked paths and quiet roads.
Hunshelf Bank circular 6.0 miles
A walk along Hunshelf Bank high above the Stocksbridge Valley. Good well defined paths. Some road walking.
Broomhead and More Hall Reservoirs 6.8 miles
This walk descends from Bolsterstone to the Ewden valley. A steady climb is needed to get back. Good well defined paths.
Wortley circular 5.8 miles
A walk though fields around the village of Wortley. Good paths with some short climbs.
Wharncliffe Chase 7.0 miles
A walk up through Wharncliffe woods onto Wharncliffe Chase. Good paths and tracks with excellent views.
Green Moor6.5 miles
From Deepcar the path follows the river before climbing up to the village of Green Moor. Good views across to Deepcar, Wortley and Thurgoland. Mostly well defined paths.
Green Moor from Wortley Station4.25 miles
From Wortley Station, down across the River Don and then up through woodland to Green Moor. From Green Moor the route passes through farm land before joining the Trans-Pennine Trail for the return to Wortley Station. Well defined paths, steep and muddy in places. Good for bluebells in spring.
Whitwell Moor from Bolsterstone 5.3 miles
A walk along quiet lanes and paths with good views across Ewden Valley. Some sections are muddy in wet weather.
